About Us

South Los Angeles Children and Family Services is a not for profit community based mental health center serving children from birth to 18 years of age.

It is our mission…

  • To provide social services to a diverse population with focused efforts on the underserved and unserved members of the community.
  • To provide prompt, sensitive, goal-oriented and measurable services that work together on improving and changing the quality of life for each of our clients and their families.
  • To continuously develop innovative methods of service delivery that lead to positive progress for our clients, their families and the community in ways that are consistent with self-determination and preservation.

A family-centered approach to mental health treatment

We offer assistance in the following areas:

  • Problems in school
  • Harmful or unmanageable behavior
  • Sibling conflicts
  • Emotional, physical or sexual abuse
  • Social withdrawal
  • Peer problems
  • Hyperactivity, attention or concentration problems
  • Adjustment to parental/caregiver separation
  • Adjustment to new placements
  • Coping with death
  • Depression, suicidal thoughts
  • Effective parenting skills

Treatment services focus on:

  • Problem resolution, intervention and prevention
  • On individual’s strengths
  • Utilizing team approach to improve outcomes in least amount of time

TREATMENT MODALITIES ARE TAILORED TO MEET THE CLIENT’S NEEDS AND EACH CHILD HAS COMPLETE ACCESS TO THE MENTAL HEALTH DELIVERY SYSTEM.
