Leimert Park Village Book Fair
Founded in 2007 by Cynthia E. Exum, the Leimert Park Village Book Fair (LPVBF) is produced in partnership with Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles and the Capri Capital Partners of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall.
Since its inception, this annual book fair has become a much-anticipated cultural tradition in the community, providing authors, literary figures, speakers, poets and other participants an
opportunity to promote their newest works as well as meet some of their fans up close and personal. Philanthropists and art historians Dr. Bernard W. and Shirley Kinsey serve as the book fair’s honorary chairpersons, leading the fundraising efforts and increasing the book fair’s brand awareness in the corporate community.
Last year, the book fair was an overwhelming success at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, with more 150 authors, writers, storytellers, poets and spokenword performers participating.
