SERVICES
Tessie Cleveland provides services for all age groups. With specialists in mental and behavioral health we are sure to find a program that fits your needs.
TBS
(Therapeutic Behavioral Services)
Sometimes, all it takes is a little extra support. Therapeutic Behavioral Services are designed to support youth in a variety of settings, including home, foster care, group home, or school. TBS is available to youth ages 0-21, with serious emotional problems or mental health illness, who have full scope Medi-Cal coverage, and are receiving other mental health services.
MAT
(Multidisciplinary Assessment Team)
The Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MAT) is an exciting collaborative effort between the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), the Department of Mental Health (DMH), and other Community Mental Health Providers. When a child is newly detained by the court, and removed from his/her family of origin, he/she is eligible for a MAT assessment. The MAT assessment is designed to make sure that all child and family needs are assessed as a child/youth enters foster care. The assessment is meant to help meet some of the special needs a child may have that place a family in danger of a lengthy separation. The information gathered by this assessment is used to determine what services are most needed and how they will be accessed.
CVI (Community Violence Intervention)
Our Community Violence Intervention (CVI) program uses evidence-informed, community-centered strategies to reduce violence and support families impacted by trauma. We serve households across the five housing developments in Watts, with referrals provided by the LAPD Community Safety Partnership (CSP) team.
After completing a household assessment, our staff identifies each family’s needs and provides tailored support. The program helps families understand the impact of community violence, strengthens safety and healing, and connects them with mental health services, resources, and community partners. Through CVI, we work to disrupt cycles of violence and improve the overall well-being of families in the community.
CCBHC
(Certified Community
Behavioral Health Clinic)
Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Primary Care Needs.
Access to coordinated care is a major issue in L.A. County. Community members with various health needs typically require physical health, mental health, substance abuse, and/or social services. Lack of care coordination leaves clients and their families feeling frustrated and confused, leading to an increase in medical expenses and mistrust in the health care system.
As a grantee of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) initiative, Tessie Cleveland Community Services (TCCSC) plans to play a role in increasing earlier access and integration to medical, mental health and substance use disorder services, as well as earlier diagnosis of serious medical conditions for those in need.
